Setting New Intentions for 2021

Hi Vegi Fam! We are all pretty stoked that this year is coming to a close and we can start fresh in 2021. 2020 was a difficult year for, well, almost everyone. Between the pandemic, elections, and everything in-between, it’s been a whirlwind that we’re happy to be leaving behind.

So, what does 2021 mean for us, then?

If you’re like us, you’re a planner. And, nothing can be more inspiring and exciting than thinking about all the possibilities that 2021 holds for us. That’s why we have brought you our favorite tips for planning your vision for your life in the new year!

1. What did you miss most about this year?

Are you feeling wanderlust more than ever before? Are you just aching to go to brunch with your besties? Are you just dying to see a movie in-theater instead of at home? Think of the things you missed the most about 2020 and write them down. Be intentional with your free time next year! Maybe you set a goal to see your friends at least a couple times a month. Maybe this means diverting some funds so you can travel more and see the world. But, take a lesson from this dumpster fire of a year: if you missed something, it means it was important to you.

2. What did you enjoy about this year that you hadn’t previously appreciated?

Did you start a reading challenge during quarantine and love every book on the list? Or maybe you picked up crocheting or embroidery to pass the time? The new hobbies you picked up in quarantine shouldn’t go away simply because we’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. If there’s a hobby, activity, or interest you picked up, make it the silver lining to 2020 and keep it going in 2021.

3. Where do you see yourself at the end of next year?

This question is open-ended, and for a good reason. It can be as small as “I want to be working the same job but growing in my knowledge at the company” to “I want to be living in South Africa!” Each of these goals has tangible steps that you can write out and take. But, you have to first decide what your goals are before you can create an action plan for the year.

4. What will be your 2021 aesthetic?

Okay, we can all admit we wore our fair share of yoga pants this year. Not having to go into the physical office allowed us to be as comfy as could be during our workdays. But, looking towards 2021, you might consider how you want to look when we all emerge into public again. Take a look at Pinterest and see which styles speak most to you and your personality: do you like vintage, or are you more bohemian? With secondhand websites, you can thrift shop online from the comfort of your couch, which is great for the planet, your wallet, and convenience. If you start now, you’ll have a whole new closet by the time quarantine ends!

5. What do you want to leave behind in 2020?

Obviously we all want to leave behind the, ahem, global pandemic. But, what habits did you form in quarantine that you want to leave behind? Maybe it’s getting too much takeout. Or, maybe you want to cut back on beer and wine. Or maybe you just want to wear real pants everyday. Think about and really sit with 2020, and think of the negativity you’re okay with shedding so 2021 can be YOUR year!
